Cara-Ann Simpson

Cara-Ann Simpson is a Melbourne-based artist with a focus on sound, space, interaction and the participant. Cara-Ann is concerned with modes of listening and hearing in social situations and how people interact with sound.
In 2011, Cara-Ann received funding from Australia Council for the Arts, Arts Victoria, City of Melbourne and private gifts to develop, present and exhibit an interactive sound installation in Australia, Canada, Turkey and New Zealand.
Cara-Ann was the recipient of the Hobday and Hingston Bursary from the Queensland Art Gallery, the Asia-Pacific GKIHS Visual & Performing Arts Sculpture Award and received the University of Southern Queensland’s Faculty of Art – Visual Arts medal in 2007.
She is the Creative Co-Director and Co-Producer of Electrofringe Ltd, and the Curator at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre. Cara-Ann is currently working on several collaborative and solo projects in Melbourne.
