2012 World Telekinesis Competition

a Noxious Sector project

The World Telekinesis Competition is a game of competitive telekinesis - an annual tournament in which teams from around the world compete to psychically influence the behavior of a candle. Participation is not geographically dependent and teams compete from their home locations around the world. Matches are played by lighting a candle at the centre of an official game board, at an agreed-upon time, signaling the beginning of the game. A match last for one hour, or until the game candle is extinguished, whichever comes first. In the event of a tie at the end of one hour, the match goes into sudden death. The object of the game is to make the wax from the candle drip onto the opposing team's side of the game board. This objective is to be accomplished by telekinetic influence. At the end of each match the winning team will advance to the following round and the losing team will be eliminated. This competition structure continues until there is only one team left. This team will be crowned the WTC champion and will be awarded the World Telekinesis Competition trophy, which they will get to keep until the following year.

The 2012 World Telekinesis Competition is the fifth annual tournament and will be held in Seattle, WA from June 7-30, 2012. All matches will be broadcast live to the web and archived for public access. Results will be updated daily online and in the Noxious Sector Projects window at 312 S. Washington Street. Please consult the project website for match schedules, results and to watch the live broadcast: www.noxioussector.net/wtc
